Join Docomomo US/NOCA for a special tour of the Weston Havens House (1940) by Harwell Hamilton Harris. This tour is hosted by the UC Berkeley College of Environmental Design, which is the steward of this icon of California Modernist architecture. House Beautiful editor Elizabeth Gordon described the home—characterized by its unique three inverted triangular wood trusses and spectacular San Francisco Bay view—as "one of the most perfect examples of contemporary American architecture."
Two tours with limited capacity will be offered on Saturday, July 15—one tour beginning at 1pm and one at 3pm.
Purchase tickets on Eventbrite.
All ticket proceeds go to the Havens House Maintenance Fund.

Meeting Location & Parking: Note that there is limited parking near the Havens House, so tours will meet outside Wurster Hall on UC Berkeley campus, and the group will walk up to the Havens House. Note that the walk is a steep 10-15 minute walk. We are happy to provide accommodation for anyone who prefers to drive/carpool uphill to the house—just send an email to info@docomomo-noca.org and we will help make arrangements.
Bonus Archives Tour: Optional tour of the Environmental Design Archives at Wurster Hall at 5pm will be hosted by curator, Betsy Frederick-Rothwell. Attendees of either tour are welcome to join.
