Join Docomomo/NOCA in sunny Oakland, California for a tour of Modern architecture and landscapes around Lake Merritt. From civic infrastructure and sculpture at Lake Merritt BART station to the Brutalist gardens of Kevin Roche's Oakland Museum of California, we'll explore the intersections of public and private space, as well as built and natural environments.
Walking tour will begin at the Oakland Museum of California and terminate at the northwest end of Lake Merritt, near the 19th Street/Oakland BART station. Bring your walking shoes! We will also be riding BART during the tour - BART fare is included with your ticket.
