Welcome To Our Newest Board Members
Docomomo US/Northern California is thrilled to announce that Chad DeWitt and Ethen Wood have joined our board! Chad and Ethen have been friends of Docomomo US/NOCA for years—Chad helping leading a stop on our 2020 70s Turn 50 Virtual Tour and Ethen presenting as part of our 2021 Lightening Talk event. Both bring a passion for Northern California Modernism and wealth of ideas, so we are looking forward to working with them!
Chad DeWitt
When he was young, Chad would thumb through issues of Sunset Magazine, daydreaming about living in a multi-level home with walled front courtyard and rain chains, all of which were very exotic, when compared to the suburban Fresno home where spent most of his childhood. In time, his dreams became reality, studying architecture at California College of the Arts in San Francisco. He is the founder of Framestudio, a boutique architecture, preservation and interiors studio based in Point Richmond. His personal passion is for local residential architecture from the Second and Third Bay Traditions.
Ethen Wood
Ethen Wood is an architectural designer and an educator who has been working in his native San Francisco for the past 20 years. In addition to running his design practice, Ethen has been an Adjunct Lecturer in Architectural Design at Stanford University since 2013, where he teaches design studios as well as courses on California Modernism and Japanese Modern Architecture. He is also an instructor at Academy of Art University where he teaches thesis and thesis prep in the Undergraduate Architecture program.
